Registration Pty Ltd is a scam
If you receive an invoice or letter from Registration Pty Ltd, do not pay it.

We've been made aware of a deceptive scheme targeting Australian business owners. Scammers are sending letters and invoices that look official, complete with reference numbers, early-payment discounts, and urgent language, but they are not from ASIC, and you are under no obligation to pay.
The domain reg.com.au (affiliated with Registration Pty Ltd) is tied to a well-known deceptive business-name and company review renewal scheme, not an official government portal.
Key Details of the Scheme
How it operates: Australian business owners receive official-looking letters or invoices by mail (or via digital notices) claiming a company review or business registration fee (such as a $449 "Review Fee") is due, complete with reference numbers and early-payment discounts.
The Catch: The fine print includes a disclaimer stating the letter is an optional offer from a private third-party intermediary, not a mandatory bill from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
Regulatory Action: ASIC formally cancelled the registered agent status of Registration Pty Ltd and affiliated entities due to breaches of its terms and conditions.
What You Should Do
Do not pay: You are not obligated to pay third-party companies for government renewals or reviews you did not intentionally request.
Verify through official channels: Handle all official company or business name renewals directly through the ASIC Website.
Report the activity: You can file a formal report regarding deceptive or misleading business-name letters via Scamwatch.
Need Help?
If you're unsure whether a notice you've received is legitimate, contact our team before making any payment. We're happy to verify it for you.
Your official ASIC renewals will always come directly from ASIC, not from a third-party company asking you to pay via their own website.
